Eligibility for Admission

(i)  4-Year UG Degree (Honours / Honours with Research) & 3-Year UG Degree: A student who has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination held by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent Examination from other Boards / Councils with at least four subjects having English as Compulsory Subject of 100 marks is eligible to take admission to the Honours Programmes of Studies of B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.C.A. on the basis of merit and available vacancy of the particular subject(s) of the concerned college.


(ii)   NRI: In case of any NRI applicant the College Authority should seek permission from the University Authority as well as from appropriate Authority.


(iii)  Students who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Examinations in the current year, immediate previous year and the year before the previous year will only be allowed to take admission.


a) Subject to the eligibility criteria, the merit lists for the 4-Year UG Degree (Honours / Honours with Research) Courses will be prepared as:
i) (S+T)/4


[Where S = Subject marks (opted for Honours Course) and T = Marks obtained in English + best marks of two other subjects].

ii) In case, any candidate opts for an Honours Course beyond his/her subject combination [except linguistic subjects at H.S. (10+2) level], the merit point will be calculated as:

T1/4.
[Where T1 = Marks obtained in English + best marks of three other subjects (excluding English)].
b) Subject to the eligibility criteria, the merit lists for the 3-Year UG Degree Course will be prepared as:
T1/4
[Where T1 = Marks obtained in English + best marks of three other subjects (excluding English)].

WRONGLY CALCULATED MERIT SCORE WILL BE CANCELLED AT ANY STAGE


Reservation of seats of Honors and General subject will be as per Order No 07-Edn (U)/1U-89/13 dated 02/01/2014 and 959-BCW/MR-52/2019 dated 18/05/2023.
