Green Campus Policy

A Green Campus is a place where environmental friendly practices and education system jointly promote sustainable and eco-friendly ambiance in the campus. Shree Agrasen Mahavidyalaya protects its own environment with its green campus initiatives and maintains a pollution free green and clean campus. The Institution is committed to managing its campus in accordance with responsibilities towards promoting sustainable environment. Our missions are:

The students are given strict instructions to maintain the campus clean. Several  NSS volunteers maintain a clean and green campus. All the corridors of college building are provided with dustbins for dry wastage disposal. Segregation of waste into dry and wet waste from the separately allotted dustbins is done in strategic locations. Our mission is to maintaining the college campuses clean and Eco-friendly.


The broad vision of the initiatives is as follows:

  1. 1. Generating awareness on cleanliness and hygiene amongst students and staff members by holding regular cleanliness drives.

  2. 2. Encouraging Staff Members to participate in the cleanliness drive in the college campus.

  3. 3. Planting of saplings by the students for addinggreenery within the campus and also inculcate awareness towards nature in their minds.

  4. 4. Organizing poster and slogan competitions, wall magazines, special lectures, workshops

  5. 5. Organizing annual tree plantation drives

  6. 6. Encouraging students to hold tree planting events.

  7. 7. Restriction on the unnecessary movement of automobiles inside the campus •

  8. 8. Prohibition on Smoking and use of other tobacco products.

  9. 9. Mahavidyalaya is dedicated to minimizing and sustainably managing its use of electricity. Electrical fixtures are switched off when not in use. Students are particularly guided to follow this principle.

  10. 10. The College is committed to install environment-friendly electrical appliances that save energy and reduce wasteful inefficiencies. The college believes in using energy efficient clean LED lighting.

  11. 11. Collect paper waste produced on campus and collaborate with scrap dealers for recycling.

  12. 12. Reduce use of paper by supporting digitization of official activities.

  13. 13. Installation of rain water harvesting system to replenish the depleting ground water level and to spread awareness among the students.

  14. 14. Employing caretaker to take immediate steps to stop any water leakage through taps, pipes, tanks, toilet flush etc. To minimize loss of water the college

  15. 15. Maintaining leak proof water fixtures and preventing overhead tank overflow.

  16. 16. Awareness amongst students about reduction of e-waste and environment friendly disposal practices for e-waste

  17. 17. The College shall aim to conduct a Green Audit to assess its strengths and weaknesses to further its goals of long-term sustainability.It provides a better understanding of the impact of eco-friendly practices on campus. Green auditing will promote financial savings through reduction of resource use.

  18. 18. An Energy Audit isconducted as and when required to further reduce its carbon footprint.

  19. 19. In view of the Government of India’s resolution to ban all single use plastics due to the hazardous impact of plastic use and pollution, the college administration strictly bans the use of single use plastics in its premise to make it a ‘Plastic Free Campus.

  20. 20. Undertake environment-centric awareness programmes through lectures, seminars and workshops and through annual observances such as - • World Environment Day • Earth Day • No “Tobacco” Day • Forest Week • Campus Cleaning Day • Tree Plantation Drive

We intend to pursue a programme of continuous improvement in our procedures, practices and review the policy on a regular basis to evaluate continued relevance and to monitor compliance.
