Women development cell

 

Women Empowerment and Gender Equality are the most important requirements for the upliftment and progress of our nation. In the effort to make Shree Agrasen Mahavidyalaya a strong kernel of gender sensitization, the Women Development Cell (WDC) was constituted on May 30, 2015. The Cell has both the faculty and students of the College as its members and works with an aim to create a gender sensitized community within campus as well as in the society. At present there are 1454female students out of 2490 total students.

 

Objective of the Committee:

  • To provide and foster a dignified, congenial working environment for woman employees (including teaching, non-teaching and contractual workers) and students, where they can realize their potential to the fullest.

  • To make women aware of their social and legal rights and thus empower them to stand against any discrimination.

  • To develop personality and inculcate leadership quality in women.

  • To organize activities and programmes to achieve the aforesaid objectives.

  • To prevent Sexual Harassment and to promote general well-being of female students, teaching, non- teaching women staff of the college.

  • To organize Seminars, Workshops relating to women development.

  • To create an environment that will help women realize their full potential and give their best.
 

    Mission

  1. To encourage female students to be self-reliant and economically independent.

  2. To instill positive self-esteem and confidence in the female students so that they can take right decision in and for-their lives.

  3. Spreading awareness among the students about the social, legal and constitutional rights of women in order to prevent the exploitation based on gender.

  5. Making females cognizant about different kinds of violence: sexual, physical and mental and to further equip them with the knowledge and strength to fight against them.

  6. Creating awareness about the need of gender equality.

  7. Eliminating deep rooted beliefs of gender bias and discrimination.
